Our group of 20 Chinese students have just flown home after their ten-day visit to their partner school in East Sussex. They have had a wonderful time here and the buddies have promised to stay in touch with each other after the exchange!

They were warmly welcomed by their host families on their arrival and went back home to relax before school started the next day.

On the first day of school they took part in a teambuilding session to get to know their buddies, who would be their ambassadors in school and attend all classes with them. Then they went straight to class!

The children had a great time taking part in English, Maths, History, Science and especially Art and Cooking classes! The UK students were using the mandarin that they knew (mostly “ni hao”!) to make the Chinese students feel at home, and over the week the Chinese students’ English improved as they became more confident and experienced more of the school.

By the final day the buddies were great friends and were very sad to say goodbye to each other, but unfortunately their time in the UK school was over.

The Chinese students wrote some beautiful reflections about their stay and will always have the memories of their wonderful time with their sister school.
